The Lights in an Abyss

For one class, I tried being laid back. Pretending to not know what I was doing; being a partial airhead. My tests? Just say they’re flukes. For once, people looked at me like a “one of us” person, you know, the ones that don’t always vie for a perfect grade. From this perspective, everything was laid back and fun in its own way. And then I understood why these people didn’t like those who were “smart”. Of course, not every one of those who want everything perfect acts this way, but if you’ve been degraded by one, you’ll hate them just as much as the others.

My experience today? This arrogant boy kept flaunting his perfect scores. He indirectly looked down on those around him by saying that expectations were so hard to meet. Then he said that “we” wouldn’t understand. “Intelligence?” he looked at the people around him and snobbishly chuckled. He gave out explanations and answers to the assignment to people as if they were at his mercy. It hurts a bit to be treated like you’re inferior. However, I also find it amusing. I’m laughing in my mind because he’ll never really understand where he actually stands. He struggles through pre-calc saying it’s a high level of math the people around him won’t understand. Little does he know, I’m laughing my head off in an even higher math class.

Some people just piss me off. Some people pisses everyone off. There’s always a reason, but hating their face at first sight really adds to the flames.
